Managing and Preparing Assembly Files
Optimizing the transition from CAD design to the production line is essential to eliminate assembly errors. We provide a complete package of files for printed circuit board assembly (SMD and THT), perfectly formatted for the main manufacturers and assemblers (EMS).
Thanks to rigorous adherence to international standards, we guarantee that every electronic board is ready for automated industrial production without delays or technical misunderstandings.
To ensure a smooth production process, we export and verify all the necessary technical documentation. The standard delivery package includes:
- Gerber X2 and ODB++: The most advanced standard formats for PCB manufacturing, natively integrating layer stack-up information and reducing the risk of misinterpretation.
-
- IPC-2581 standard: We support the next-generation data exchange format, ideal for transferring all design, assembly and testing specifications in a single secure file.
-
- Bill of Materials (BOM): A detailed list of components, complete with manufacturer part numbers (MPN), packages and reference designators, structured to facilitate material procurement.
Before sending the files to the factory, it is essential to verify the mechanical dimensions and tolerances of the components on the board:
- Accurate 3D models: We provide interactive 3D views of the assembled PCB.
- Error prevention: This visual check makes it possible to validate component heights, verify there are no collisions with enclosures (cases), and analyze the actual footprint of THT components and connectors.

The core of modern assembly relies on the precision of automatic machines. For this reason, we provide dedicated placement files:
- Centroid files (X-Y coordinates): We export files in .txt or .csv format containing the exact coordinates, rotation and layer (Top/Bottom) of every individual SMD component.
- Universal compatibility: Pick and Place files are formatted to be imported directly into the assembly line software of the main EMS providers.
- PDF assembly drawings: Clear visual documentation with dedicated views for surface-mount (SMD) and through-hole (THT) assembly, useful for quality control and manual soldering.
